Spaciousness is Just a Decision Away

In late 2023, I sold my shares in my previous company and doubled down on Groove with Gaia with Cameron.

The feeling of consolidation was liberating.

Removing a major responsibility that no longer served me created more space than I could’ve imagined.

For years, I juggled multiple “containers” - organizations, commitments, teams.

It all started in 2014, when I took my first tab of LSD on a beach in Cambodia. That moment sparked my entrepreneurial awakening and eventually led to my first [legally-recognized] company with three co-founders.

...But I also had a job. Dun Dun Dun.

And that was the beginning of my split work-attention.

Different contexts. Different cultures. Different missions.

Over time, I found myself running two successful companies with totally different structures and business partners.

And the moment I let one go, everything changed.

I went from 4-6 hours of meetings per day... to less than 4 hours per week.

From managing dozens of clients, employees, and contractors… to working with just my wife.

From living in Slack… to not needing it at all.

From giving all my creativity to clients… to giving it to myself and my family.

Space opened up.

And that space is invaluable, because time only moves in one direction.

So in the spirit of this month’s mantra Clear the Clutter, ask yourself:

What am I still holding onto that no longer serves me?

Spaciousness may be just one decision away.

It’s easier than ever to be a hoarder... but just remember, you can’t take it with you.

Blessings,

Elijah
